Education<\/h1>\n

Festival Circolo is one of the largest contemporary circus festivals in the Netherlands. Contemporary circus builds on the magic of traditional circus and adds new ingredients: theater, modern dance, visual arts, opera, and everything else that can be imagined. Contemporary circus revolves around moving stories and characters, combined with breathtaking stunts. Festival Circolo wants to give children this experience, because we believe that art teaches them to see, dream, and let their imagination run wild. <\/p>\n

Primary Education<\/h3>\n

Even before Circolo begins for the general public, we offer elementary schools a circus performance on the festival grounds. In preparation for this, schools will receive an education package designed specifically for elementary school (specifically grades 5 through 8). Students can go together with the (gym) teacher to discover what the new circus is all about through a video, various active assignments and a quiz. Teachers can decide how much time to spend on the assignments. In addition, to further connect with the elementary school curriculum, Circolo is having the circus performance tie in with the theme of Children’s Book Week. Extracurricular care<\/h3>\n

Circolo takes place during the fall vacations. The schools are closed then, of course, but the BSOs are open. More and more BSOs are visiting Circolo for an afternoon of wonder.<\/p>\n

Starting in 2024, Circolo will offer special BSO packages that include a backstage tour, performance visit, post performance discussion with artists and a workshop. Are you interested?
