TeaTime Company has been a pioneer of groundbreaking performances for years, and with their latest production, Ripple, they once again underline this with bold strokes. In this brilliant show, three performers engage in a dance with a giant metal spiral. With its monumental presence, the spiral takes the undisputed lead in this captivating performance. The impressive object moves across the stage, constantly presenting new challenges to the players around it. At any moment, the entire situation can change with an unexpected move from a performer. The gigantic spiral serves as an acrobatic playground, at times a mountainside, then a swing, seesaw, or Ferris wheel. Rolling, hanging, and stepping in, around, and through the object, TeaTime Company continually stimulates the audience. Ripple is an upward spiral brilliantly executed.
TeaTime Company is a performing arts ensemble. The trio combines contemporary dance and circus to create a unique movement language. Their work focuses on simplicity, connection, and the individual behind the movement, emphasizing pure and honest communication. The company creates charming and accessible performances that carry complex ideas, characterized by lightness, humor, and refinement. Much like enjoying a cup of tea—simple yet profound—they offer their audience a moment of reflection and connection.
This performance is programmed as part of the partnership with Makershuis Tilburg, which offers short-term talent development programmes to makers annually through five partners and regularly provides a stage for the Makers Community to showcase new work in circus, dance, theatre and crossovers of disciplines. TeaTime Company is one of the companies that has long been associated with Makershuis Tilburg.
