Enthusiastic elementary school children are introduced to circus thanks to Tall Tales

Today, 300 children from several Tilburg elementary school classes got a taste of contemporary circus. Rotterdam circus company Tall Tales Company came to Festival Circolo with the show On the Move, which addressed important themes of individuality and collaboration.

Circus on the menu

The love of circus we love to pass on. With that in mind, we invited several classes from various Tilburg elementary schools to come and enjoy the unique show On the Move by Tall Tales Company.

In the weeks leading up to the performance, the children have been working with a specially designed education package from Circolo. In doing so, they playfully explored contemporary circus. They included a quiz and several active tasks to get a taste of the circus atmosphere.

Differences become similarities

In On the Move, we see two completely different characters; a circus performer and a breakdancer, who gradually come to understand each other better and better. Although at first glance acrobatics and breaking seem really different, there are also a lot of similarities. Thus, the theme of “bridging differences” is at the heart of this performance.

Success Recipe

The performance was well received by young audiences. At the start of the show, it was announced that the children did not have to keep quiet and were welcome to show their enthusiasm. And enthusiasm was abundant: there was considerable clapping and cheering, and full-throated “WOOOW” could be heard several times. In short: a recipe for success!
