Sustainability

With the move to Spoorpark, the festival was able to take an important step in making the event more sustainable. Its location right next to the train and bus station means a substantial decrease in automobile transportation movements. Ample power is available on site so that generators can be dispensed with. The use of a Green Battery fills additional energy needs.
In a European context, we are working with fellow festivals to find more sustainable ways to heat or cool tents. Therein lies a huge challenge that can only be addressed by acting collectively. Circolo is committed to reducing waste by using reusable materials. What waste remains is separated as much as possible. Catering at the festival is entirely vegetarian with as much produce from regional suppliers as possible. Leftovers are almost entirely incorporated into new dishes or donated to surrounding organizations.
