These are the most intimate performances of Festival Circolo 2024!
This year, Festival Circolo brings you closer than ever. In this intimacy, we discover that we often focus too much on ourselves, while a glance into someone’s eyes, hearing a voice, or experiencing a story told through body language touches us more deeply when the distance is smaller. Festival Circolo 2024 offers you the chance to truly feel your heart beat. Relax and enjoy as we present the four most intimate performances at Festival Circolo!
Masha – Cia Palimsesta
Masha is i a refreshingly original performance where precise movements meet a slippery surface, coming together seamlessly. In a creative laboratory, two acrobats battle a one-by-eight-meter linoleum strip covered in oil, seeking stability in an elusive environment. The slicker it gets and the less grip the performers have, the clearer it becomes that we are all walking on slippery ground, even when it appears solid.

CERAMIC CIRCUS – Julian Vogel
Step into CERAMIC CIRCUS, where ceramics and circus art collide, and the threat of things breaking is ever-present. Acrobat and ceramic artist Julian Vogel unites his two great passions in this delicately fragile performance, where the audience is caught between hope and fear. With this show, Vogel once again pushes contemporary circus to new levels with daring choices and a distinct vision.
Where? Spoorpark Loup l When: 23, 24 October l For whom: 8+
Fora – Alice Rende
In the mystical performance Fora, Alice Rende gives a voice to society’s outcasts. From a confined Plexiglas box with barely enough space to move, she finds the freedom to tell a powerful story of oppression. With a nod to Houdini, traditional contortionist techniques, and a unique twist, Alice Rende delivers a breathtaking performance that not only challenges stereotypes but also breaks new ground in the genre.
Where? De Nieuwe Vorst Grote Zaal l When: 22, 23 October l For whom: 7+
La Boule – Liam Lelarge en Kim Marro
Like Siamese twins, Liam Lelarge and Kim Marro form a tightly intertwined duo, with their arms and legs locked together. Moving as one versatile “body ball,” they shift between using one, two, three, or four limbs. La Boule is an acrobatic dance for two, celebrating the complexity of sibling-like bonds. Delightfully surreal and surprisingly entertaining. Delightfully surreal and surprisingly entertaining.
