BRICK is the wordless story of a literal and figurative cornerstone of our society: the brick. Performer Samuel Bey juxtaposes his own body against dozens of pounds of building stone. He juggles, dances and makes live sculptures. But what he builds up eventually comes back down. From beginning to end, tension shimmers and sways between the artist, the stones, gravity and the audience. Builder and structure flirt nonstop with menace in a primordial tale of perseverance, even in the face of absurd setbacks.
